The Flashforward Film Festival features 10 categories listed below.

We're looking for the most innovative and compelling examples of FlashTM work available. We welcome nominations in the following categories:

1. Application - Most innovative desktop or online application (RIA) built in Flash. Judges will look for strong usability, originality and technical complexity.

2. Cartoon/Story/Narrative - Work which uses Flash for a storytelling purpose, whether documentary, drama, satire, or comedy. If the cartoon is episodic in nature, each episode to be considered should be nominated separately.

3. Code - A work that demonstrates advanced Flash ActionScript techniques.

4. Experimental/Art- A unique, artistic, or innovative entry that employs original technique to achieve uncommon results, exploring the limits of Flash, either technically, aesthetically or both.

5. Game - A Flash game that is challenging, entertaining, and uses Flash in innovative ways.

6. Motion Graphics - Flash work which predominantly uses static artwork put to motion, whether via tweening, ActionScripting, or other real-time rendering techniques in Flash.

7. Navigation/Experience - Flash work in which the navigation is exceptionally usable, clever or original and plays a key role in delivering an exceptional user experience.

8. Sound - Flash work which uses original sound to enhance and deliver a compelling user experience. This can be interactively generated sound, interface feedback, or effective background tracks. Entries will be judged on how well sound supports the user experience.

9. Typography - Exemplary use of typographic design in the interface, the content or the animation of a Flash work.

10. Video - Most compelling interactive experience that uses video. A typical entry in this category might feature an elegant interface paired with content that is primarily video-based. Entries will be judged on how well the use of video supports the user experience.
